05/13/04 - FINALLY! MORE UPDATES!
Okay, okay -- so it's been a looooong time since I've had time to update this site. Busy is good, right? :-)
Soooo.....let me see if I can bring you up to date.....
MARIA HOWELL SONG 'CLOSE TO HEART' TO BE FEATURED:
We have secured Atlanta jazz singer Maria Howell's rendition of 'Close To Heart', a sad but romantic song, for use in 'AfterLife'. 'Close To Heart' was written by the legendary Billy Goodrum, who has had songs in just about every Farrelly Brothers movie there is. We're very excited! www.mariahowell.com
PARTY SCENES SHOOT AT STOWE MANOR:
The amazing Stowe Manor in Belmont, NC, was the location for our anniversary party scenes. A huge and gorgeous place! Many thanks to Sam Stowe! www.geocities.com/stowemanor
RODI SETS THE SCENE:
Our bar scenes were shot in an amazing restaurant/bar in Gastonia called Rodi. Wonderful atmosphere and decor, excellent food, and great people. Thanks go to Carla Pope, who also arranged for us to shoot some of our interiors at the Ashley Arms Apartments in Gastonia. www.rodiworld.com
DR. BARRY SCANLAN PROVIDES LOGAN'S HOUSE:
Well.....MOST of Logan's house. (Some bits were set at the Ashley Arms, as mentioned above.) Dr. Scanlan was generous enough to give us the run of his beautiful house for more than one day of shooting. A doctor with great patience! :-)
PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL PROVIDES ANOTHER REALISTIC LOCATION:
The good folks at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte bent over backwards to help us. We were able to shoot in a patient room and several corridors of the hospital. They were great! Thanks to Kati, Eric, Tammy and Heidi.
NOW WE'RE DOWN TO THE FINAL SCENES!!!
It's been a long, long road, but we're finally coming up on the final day of principal photography, which is scheduled for May 29th (and maybe May 30th.) We've had trouble getting these last scenes scheduled because, darn it, our leading man -- Greg Thompson -- keeps getting himself cast in big projects! He had a role as an emergency room doctor in two episodes of 'One Tree Hill', and was cast to play Darrell Waltrip in the upcoming ESPN movie about Dale Earnhardt. (You GO, Greg!) But at last we found a date when everyone can be there. Fingers crossed we don't have a freak blizzard or something! :-)
09/15/03 - SHOOTING BEGINS!
After much advance preparation, principal photography for 'AfterLife' began on September 13th. We started with a wardrobe check and rehearsal, which was attended by virtually the entire cast. Everyone seems very excited and enthusiastic about the project!
After the rehearsal, we began shooting some scenes with Greg Thompson (Logan Foster), Nanci Hernandez-Hall (Lilith Foster) and Tanya Eller (Angelique Foster). These are AWESOME actors! It was such fun watching them work!
We shot the picnic scene on Sunday. After we'd wrapped, a group of young kids who'd been watching approached Greg and Tanya -- they wanted autographs! The actors were so flattered! Greg and Tanya were very sweet to the kids, signing the pieces of paper and talking with the kids about the movie. It was so cute!
Next scheduled shooting dates -- October 3rd and 4th.
08/30/03 - Edward Nyankori to direct!
Georgia State film graduate Edward Nyankori has agreed to direct 'AfterLife'. Edward is an extremely talented young man with an extensive background as a gaffer, cinematographer and director. He brings a tremendous vision to our movie, and we're so happy to have him on-board!
08/20/03 - AfterLife will be premiered in New York City!
Sam Hinedi of Nottevera Fashion Group has announced they will throw a small premiere screening party for the movie in New York! Hopefully, many of our cast and crew will be able to attend. We're looking forward to it!
08/15/03 - Nottevera to provide wardrobe!
Upscale NY women's fashion company Nottevera Fashion Group (www.nottevera.com) will be providing some fine Italian fashions as wardrobe for some of our actresses. Nottevera rep Sam Hinedi says they're very excited to be a part of this production. We're excited to have them!
08/01/03 - We're fully cast!
After several weeks of rigorous auditions and callbacks, we have finally completed the casting of 'Afterlife'! We've got some amazingly talented people, some of whom are coming from as far away as Virginia, Texas and California to participate. We're very fortunate! 07/13/03 - 2nd Round Of Casting!
Callbacks and the second round of auditions will be held on Saturday July 19th. We still have a few major roles to cast, but take a look at the 'Production Photos' page to see who we've cast already! Seeing a LOT of talented people!

06/19/03 - Auditions Are Scheduled
Auditions for AfterLife will be held in Gastonia, NC, on Saturday, June 28th. We have had a tremendous amount of interest! Our audition schedule is just about full -- currently we'll be auditioning from 9:30am until after 7:00pm. It's gonna be a looooong day!
06/13/03 - A Major Investor Comes Onboard!
Who says Friday the 13th is UNLUCKY??? Today we had a major investor join the production, kicking in . What a boost! We're all very excited!
